This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research and analyse potential system solutions and present a feasibility report to the client.
It applies to individuals required to investigate potential solutions within the context of an information and communications technology (ICT) project.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Evidence of Performance
Evidence of the ability to:
identify and confirm services required
document the project scope
develop solutions to client’s requirements that fit within the constraints
document the feasibility report according to requirements.
Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.
Evidence of Knowledge
To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:
explain the client business domain
outline the system's current functionality
explain the role of stakeholders and the degree of stakeholder involvement
describe and compare TWO or more current industry systems development methodologies.
Assessment Conditions
Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the systems analysis and design field of work, and include access to:
client requirements
report writing template
client expectations brief
information on a range of information and communications technology (ICT) business solutions
future organisational business processes
budgets for scenarios
outcomes of the business analysis process.
Assessors must satisfy NVR/AQTF assessor requirements.
